A look back in time reveals some of the best players from Boston’s legendary sports teams once lent star power to the apartment community that is now Altitude Apartments.
Back then, in the 1970s and 1980s, the brand new apartments for rent, with their expansive balconies and stunning skyline views, became known as the residence of choice for a slew of star athletes from the Bruins, Celtics, and Red Sox. Drawn by the proximity to the arenas in Boston and ease of getting there, the champions of their time found just what they were looking for in this landmark property, rising on a hill in Malden.
But Altitude is not one to rest on its laurels. In fact, those athletes may even do a double take if they returned to their former home. If the apartment community seemed like a secluded retreat in the past ― a welcome respite from fans, practices, and games ― it is now a hand-in-glove fit for the modern renter. Over the past year, Altitude has received a top-to-bottom do-over.
The apartments, which undoubtedly were top notch when they drew the big names in sports, are as spacious as ever, but otherwise look nothing like in the past. Renovations have been so thorough that it feels like entering a brand new space, complete with all the features that you deserve: granite countertops, sleek designer kitchen and bathroom cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors in the living areas, and carpeted bedrooms.
The grounds have been similarly transformed. Let us guess the star athletes would have given the new Club Altitude their seal of approval. Situated next to the large swimming pool (pick a cabana and relax when temperatures rise) this state-of-the-art facility is stocked with amenities, down to the last square foot. Here, you find a fitness center, a weight room, on-demand yoga classes, a business center with Wi-Fi access, a movie theater, a game room, and more.
And how about that beautiful skyline view? It is as panoramic as when the Tom Bradys of the past lived here, albeit with the addition of a few more skyscrapers. But getting to and from downtown Boston is even easier now. Altitude boasts two MBTA bus stops. Hop on at Haymarket and you’re home within minutes.
You’ll love Altitude, where everything is new again.
